What a truly terrible shop they really are.
Reserved a sat-nav in their sale last night, told it was in stock and I could collect it today. Surprise, surprise got a phone call today that it was no longer in stock.
Now, I wonder why that could be, possibly because the staff arrived and saw the prices?
Had a quick Google around regarding the matter and it appears that almost everybody that ordered a satnav in their sale also received a similar phone call:
"It's not in stock any longer..."
"It's damaged beyond repair and we can't sell it any more..."
"We can't find it in the stockroom..."
"Our system was broken and reporting incorrect stock levels..."
Pathetic really. Avoid this company like the plague

halfords advertise and pride in custermer service,
well i went into Leamington Store,
and NO one new how to change a rear tail light for a Audi A3, there computers could not tell me what bulb i needed.
What kind of service is that.....
i will never use halfords again as its turned into a nation wide company that is there to make sh*t loads of money, but does not actally care about its customers....
they do not employee any people who are actually trained too...

Halfords are a complete waste of time and now on my banned list. The most consistently worst service fairly much anywhere. No knowledge, no understanding of customer service. They never have the tills manned properly.
I buy something from the bike shop and after 10 minutes of waiting told I can't return it to the bike shop but must queue for 25 minutes at the spares counter. Spent time as one customer after another in front complain.
Offers on the web site never available online or in store - informed web site is not misleading; they just cannot keep it updated. What - forget it.
Never again

I don't believe halfords quite understand the internet, not possible to buy online, not possible to have delivered to a local store. I have to reserve and collect, travelling miles to get to this magic store with one in stock (and reserved) only to find theyve never had one in stock!! Brilliant, no communication whatsoever. I SWEAR I will NEVER NEVER touch Halfords again!! Cowboys come to mind, did I read they're on the verge of collapse, no surprises there . . . AVOID their website...

You'd think if you paid for something and the shop told when you could collect it, it would be there.
Wrong.
Not even the shop staff know what's been dispatched and what's supposed to arrive.
If you want certainty on delivery, go elsewhere

WHO on Earth thought that the ad with the screaming child on a bike was a good ad. Everyone I know hits the Mute button when this ad comes on. Please Halfords, shut this child up !!!! My dog (a large German Shepherd)hates this ad and buries her head in a cushion every time it comes on, and I can't blame her. Even a mother could not love the screaming kid.

I needed a new headlamp bulb for my Ford Focus. I imagined having to phone my garage, waiting for an appointment in a few days time (and being stopped...again...by the police...). But my husband suggested I try Halfords. I checked on-line that Bishopbriggs was one of their centres offering bulb replacement, and visited first thing the next morning. The website suggested I might need to book but I didn't and got served very quickly by a great bloke who checked on-line they had the bulb, got it off the shelf and fitted it himself within 10 minutes. Total cost including fitting £17. Really nice guy, great fast service and vfm. Definitely recommend

Like the guy above me, I also made the mistake of buying a Trax TR1. The back wheel broke as I was riding along just 3 months after purchase. The salesmen told me that riding it for 1 hour a day was too much for this bike and that I wore out the back wheel!! I am NEVER EVER shopping at Halfords again, they are a bunch of amateurs. No wonder everyone calls them Hellfrauds. Even an £80 should last through the year, if a £200 bike lasts 10 years plus. They tried to buoy me off but I kicked off and they offered me a new wheel. I could of got killed by a car, these noobs shouldn't be selling dangerous stuff. If it's a bike you can only use once a month then it's a paperweight or a Bike Shaped Object

Having not owned bikes for a while, my wife and I bought two new bikes from Halfords at a reasonable price and they seem to be good quality bikes, but the service and bike set up was appalling.
We love the bikes, and I have no regrets about buying them, but both were unusable straight out of the shop after being promised a free same day setup and safety check upon purchase! One bike was on the shop floor as it was the last one in that size, so needed checking over, and the other was new and boxed so required assembly.
In short there were many issues with the bikes that were apparent as soon as we left the shop!
- Both sets of brakes were unsafe; one set of brake pads was constantly rubbing on the tyre rim due to the cable not being adjusted to the right length, and on the other bike one of the front pads did not contact the rim at all when braking!
- The bike assembled from the box had the front dérailleur in the wrong position and wasn't adjusted properly so didn't change gear on the front at all. The other bike only went in to 6 of the 7 rear gears and 2 of the front 3.
We also bought mudguards and had these fitted on one of the bikes, as they said they would do it during assembly. The front mudguard prevented the V-brake from working properly as it rubbed against the stirrup, so these had to be returned and swapped for ones that did actually fit the bikes!
Not only were the bikes not usable, but the acc

I purchased A Navman Satnav system for £150.
Got it home to find the UHB cable required to up load maps is NOT included in the box.
The DVD to download maps would not work on 2 seperate computors.
I went back to the store, spoke to a very young employee that knew nothing about anything. Apparantly they always employ the youngest possible so they don't have to pay the minimum wage.
3 people in all had a look at it and said that I had been fiddling with it.
If I have no working DVD and no USB cable to make it work then how have I fiddled with it.
I spoke to head office customer service.
The idiot said that clearly marked on the box is a notice saying that a USB cable is required to make the sat nav work. Oh no it isn't.
I have been back to the store once and the manager said "you have been fiddling with it and you are not getting a refund TOUGH".
I have spoken to several people that have gone to Halfords and asked about the fitting service they provide.
Nobody in the stores are qualified to tamper with auto electrics and will not accept responsibility if anything like a short circuit in engine management or blowing fuses is caused.
DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!
I spoke to Trading Standards who told me I should have a full refund and if they refuse then they will represent me in the courts.
I have a case number.
They then relented and sent a lett

I happen to know a friend who works there and he's expected to fit Stereos, Handsfree kits, Roof bars, Bulbs, Speakers, Amps, Subs, Wipers, Hardwire Sat navs, and much much more, completely untrained, without (or with very little) support or help from the company, on a tight timescale and ON MINIMUM WAGE!!!! What a disgrace, an utter disgrace this company has become since the greed mongers took over (David Wild, are you listening??)
The stores are seriously understaffed, the staff untrained, overworked and underpaid. Managers are put under pressure to employ under 18s so they don't have to pay minimum wage!!!! When this mismanaged joke of a company finally goes bust I hope the greedy cowboys responsible for the mess are bankrupted, i really do, IDIOTS!!!

Title says it all. Spent £850 on a Boardman bike, which was so appallingly set up by Haflords staff, had to take it back to the store 3 times in the first week. It was last straw when the pedal came off when I was out on it, which was just plain dangerous. Turns out it had too many spacers on it,, which had completely wrecked the pedal, and the end nut had been cross threaded. Nice one Halfords, way to screw over what would have been a nice bike. Got a refund and I'm heading to my local bike shop,..

£18.99 tyre pressure gauge used three times since last summer (bought specifically for motor home tyres)and on its third use yesterday gave a constant 'E' error reading - the only reliable thing it did do! Changed the two (perfectly good) CR2032 batteries - no improvement whatsoever. Granted it may be just out of guarantee. Staff member 'Jake' tested it for me and confirmed it was not working; same error message displayed for him and could not understand why. Attitude of store manager (Darren)..

Mens Trax TR1 bike bought by my 16 year old son to ride to and from the Gym. Shop took 10 mins to put together after leaving it with them all day. Day one, the back wheel buckled, the seat moved and the chain fell off. All downhill from there - 4 visits back to Halfords in 4 weeks and they then refused to refund. NEVER AGAIN. Could this be a record.....I suspect not...

I went into Halfords at Braehead in Glasgow. I just wanted a bike I could go out on a few jouneys with - nothing serious - so I got a Trax Hybrid bikes. The guys in the shop didn't have a clue about how to set up the bike and after waiting a while to get served, I didn't get a chance to test it out. After taking it home and trying it I noticed lots of things that weren't properly adjusted. Took it back in the next day and got it properly seen to by a staff member who was run off his feet (store..

took my bike to halfords as the gears needed a tweak ... the "bike hut" is up 2 flights of stairs, clever, and, after dragging my machine up to the counter I was ignored by the ONE member of staff on duty for about 20 minutes while he failed to sell a bike to a couple of punters. Eventually I inquired as to whether there was anyone else on duty at which point another member of staff mircaulously materialised. However, he didn't even look at the bike, telling me that there is a 3 week waiting list..

I bought a bike for £85 and a 3 year bike protection plan for £36. Over the course of 14 months, I'd had various running repairs but nothing major. After 14 months, I had a problem where I couldn't pedal and on taking it to th store with my protection plan expecting it to be another inor repair, was informed it would cost around £100 to repair, which was obviously pointless given that's more than the bike cost. I wrote to the company explaining the situation and demanded some compensation. They..

Took car in for cambelt replacement. Only one cam of the two was re set, on compeltion of the work. Halfords tried to fob off saying engine needed one hour drive, for engine conputer to re set an engine ti run smoothly. Never had that with cam belt replacements in the past. Has to take car to another garage to get sorted out. HALFORDS CAN NOT BE TRUSTED IN MY EXPERIANCE WITH CAR MAINTENACE. GO TO THEM AT YOUR PERIL...
