The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

  i bought two bikes from evans the first went well although evens were not able to provide me with the correct handbook for the bike. The second bike I ordered online, it came quickly and with full set up note and Allen keys. There were some problems setting up the chargebsteamer my local evens shop were happy to sort them out. I have continuing problems with the steamer as the seat won't hold steady on the seat pole. An evens rep told me it's a fundamental floor in this bike and there is no obvious..

  I ordered a bike from Evans via the website (admittedly at agood price), in stock for delivery in 5-7 days, they say all fully built up and tested by one of their technicians. I eventually received the bike two and a half weeks later with two buckled wheels, badly adjusted gears and chips to the paint that had been badly touched up (used touch-up paint supplied). When I previously phoned them to ask where my bike was and was told that it was on it's way to the warehouse from one of their branches..
