Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

I've been commuting 10 miles to and from work, two days a week for the past four years on a Hybrid. Drawn to a cycle cross style bikes I saw a Specialized Tricross Sport Disc 2012 Road Bike advertised in a magazine and then found it on the Evans web site. Saving up the pennies as the cycle to work scheme does not seem as much value for money as it was when it came out, I was over the moon when I saw that Evans had reduced the Tricross to £809 in the January sale. With one thing and another I dragged my feet only to see the bike go back up to £900… Searching the internet I found the bike for £809 with a competitor Evans said they would price match.

Unperturbed I attended the store where a member of staff asked how he could help? Informing him that I was interested in test riding a Specialized Tricross Sport Disc 2012 Road Bike, he said "What are you 6'3 – 6'4”? I informed him 6'3 to which he said "61 cm frame, I rode a Specialized 58 the other day and it will be too small for you”! Producing a print out of the competitor's rice, he did not quibble and agreed to price match.
He then found a space in the diary and
In the begining I was offered expert help by the manager (Ben) in choosing the correct size and spec of cycle. All the staff helped with my additional questions at time of test ride. The manager came up with a solution to one of my concerns and as result of this I made my purchase.(HAPPY) Having taken delivery of my new cycle I discovered a discrepency in the website description. (NOT HAPPY) On pointing this out I was told to contact their customer services department as they were not authorised,..
