The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

  I went today to pick up my order @ Evans Chiswick @ 4:20pm. I have been served by Alister L. I collected my order and was about to leave the shop when the security gate started to make noice so I have returned to the counter. I gave Alister my order to check if any security tags were left accidentally. He checked it and said it's OK. The other woman who was pirchesing something before me have had exactly the same situation so I have pointed that out to Alister. He asked me if he could look at my..

  I regularly buy things from Evans, and my only complaint is cost. I tend to buy things in the sales, or I go to the shop so that I can get CTC discount. Without the discount, prices are more expensive than most other big cycle shops. Also, I have to be careful about prices, as for some items, I've found the shop price to be very much higher than the internet price. I have to research a product to decide the best way to buy it. On two occasions I have bought products with a very misleading description..
