The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

  Sales assistant didnt introduse himself, asked me if I had shopped there before TWICE..after I told him I was in the week before buying rollers, no information offered on the products I was buying even when I stated I had not used SPD pedal shoes before, and as as final kick in the teeth when I got home found out that ther was no cleats included with the shoes... if only he had mentioned this so now I have to go out again.. not to Evans... Apline cycle will be getting my business, sales assistant only interested in my money

  i bought a bike a kona lanai from the shop and all seemed okay. i took it home rode it for a couple of days noticed the wheel wobbled. i thought easy job take it back to the shop when it was the first service and it would be easily fixed. i was wrong they did nothing to fix the bike when they did the service despite me telling them about the wheel i had to take it back a second time they took it away for twenty minutes and then brought it back having tightened it up and said that was the best they could do despite the wheel still wobbling. i then contacted customer services who said take it back again so i did this time they refused to fix the wheel this wobble on the wheel which it should not have at all is within British standards of wobbliness is their excuse. shoddy and lack lustre customer service people who don't want to fix bikes just want to sell new bikes. well my next bike sale will not be at evans
