The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

  Went in to buy brake pads for a common road bike, even when three members of staff had discussed it between themselves they still couldn't be sure that they were going to sell me the right brake pads. If I could have afforded to wait to go some where else I would have. I really wouldn't recommend this shop unless you know exactly what you want as the staff wont be able to help...

  If the stuff is on the shelves there isn't a problem. However.... One order for Shimano hub brake grease was not fulfilled after 3 months. There were supply problems at Madison and from Shimano - apparently. I gave up and ordered the same item from an on-line supplier and received it in two days. Another order was for TWO battery holders for a Hope Vision One front light (I had bought one light for each of my sons as a Christmas present). Despite ordering TWO and pre-paying (you have to) for..
