The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

I just have no complaints, I've been in London in 2010, gone to one of the branchs, had a great time and a great support. When in Brazil (where I live), if I need something, I just have to browse the website, find what I'm looking for, buy it and wait for it. It's always sure to get it perfect. Thank you so much for the great service
I dropped my Bianchi Infinito in for a Stage One service yesterday to the Kingston store. Nothing much wrong - I simply wanted it checked over, some tweaking here and there etc as I have an 900km ride in Thailand coming up shortly.
I dropped it off at 8am and got n email a couple of hours later to say the work was complete. I thought that was quick - perhaps too quick - and sure enough, when I picked the bike up last night it was actually worse than when I dropped it off, albeit cleaner. £60 for a clean is not good value.
The worse part is the front and rear derailleur set up - it is so poorly adjusted that it is impossible to access the two smaller cogs of the rear cassette. The front derailleur is almost as bad. I dropped off a smooth, near-silent-running campagnolo groupset that needed some minor adjustment and got back a clunky, noisy version.
It is clear that no quality assurance took place and no-one bothered to even shirt through the complete range of gears before signing the bike off - it would be that obvious to anyone bothering to check.
I am really disappointed at the quality of the service. I am capabale of doing the work myself but my time is really limited at the moment hence giving Evans the work. I have left a message for the Kingston Manager this AM - I don't think they have ever answered the phone - so let's see how they suggest remedying the issue. I'll update.
