The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes. In 1925 the company was presented with a silver plaque by the Cyclists Touring Club (The CTC) for ‘The greatest improvement in cycle design, construction or equipment during the year 1925’. The award was given for design and low cost production of a rear wheel dropout.

  WOW I WENT WITH MY SON TO EVANS AT FREEPORT , CASTLEFORD .
  IN ALL MY ALMOST 40 YEARS IVE NEVER COME ACROSS SUCH DEDICATED STAFF.
  VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AT WHAT MY TEENAGE SON WAS ASKING .
  NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE ..
  HE'S HAD BIKE FROM THIS SHOP FOR 4 YEARS NOW .. BUT THIS YEAR HE'S CUSTOM-BUILDING £400.00 FOR WHEELS ..(YEP I KNOW WHAT YA THINKING )COULD HAVE BOUGHT A NEW ONE .. BUT HE SPENDS EVERY POSSIBLE CHANCE ON IS BIKE ..
  BIRTHDAY MONDAY , XMAS EVEN POCKET MONEY ALL ON HIS BIKE .
  MY MUM AND AUNTIE TOOK HIM A FEW WEEKS AGO TO GET THE PARTS HE WANTED ,HANDLEBARS ,STEM BRACKET ETC..
  THEY ALWAYS COMMENT ON THE STAFF .HOW LOVELY THEY ARE .
  SO I WENT TO CHANGE A PART THAT WAS THE WRONG SIZE .
  I TELEPHONED AND SPOKE WITH A MEMBER OF THE TEAM CALLED NATHAN , WHO WAS MOST HELPFUL TO A MUM WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT STUNT BIKES .
  I RETURNED THE ITEM ,FOR A EXCHANGE NO PROBLEMS THEY EVEN FIT ALL THE PARTS FOR FREE .... WOW SO MY KITCHEN IS STILL INTACT . MANY THNKA TO ALL THE GANG AT EVEANS FREEPORT YOUR A CREDIT TO THE FIRM ... RACH

  Just want to say the we purchased a bike from this store and got second to none customer service really good product knowledge the sale person Julius
  really spent the time to help and make it a really enjoyable.
  We left the store 30min after closing time still feeling welcome and not rushed.
